Fast, High-Resolution Genotyping of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
The Cica Geneus™ Pseudo POT KIT is a rapid and reliable molecular diagnostic solution designed for the genotyping of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, including Multiple Drug-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MDRP) strains. Developed through leading infectious disease research in Japan, this kit empowers laboratories to efficiently track and analyze bacterial strains in both clinical and environmental settings.
🔍 Overview
PCR-based ORF Typing (POT) is a multiplex PCR technique developed by Dr. Suzuki (Aichi Prefectural Institute of Public Health) and Dr. Iinuma (Kanazawa Medical University). It allows simultaneous amplification of multiple specific ORFs, followed by agarose gel electrophoresis and digital band pattern analysis.
Key Features
Fast Analysis – Complete workflow within 4 hours
High Discrimination – Comparable to PFGE and MLST
Digitized Output – Banding patterns converted to POT types for objective comparison
Reproducibility – Consistent strain-level identification in outbreak investigations
Target Detection
The kit detects specific genomic islets, prophage genes, and resistance markers such as VIM and IMP.
Electrophoresis results help identify MDRP strains and assess relatedness across isolates.
